    Syllabus

Upon completion of this course, participants will learn how to:

      • Explore the challenges of verbal and non-verbal communication.
      • Understand the impact of clinician led and patient generated metaphors.
      • Develop practical skills to empower people in pain to express their experiences.

      Benefits

Without effective communication skills it does not matter what we know. Research has shown that healthcare communication is often clinician led and paternalistic, which frequently leaves patients feeling disengaged and unheard.
